Just returned from a great trip up in the north west of WA. Weather was great, the company was good and my Outback didn't miss a beat!

Did 5000km in two weeks taking in the Kennedy Ranges, Mt Augustus, Karijini, Millstream/Chicester, Cape Range and Coalseam.

Did a few things to it before leaving, namely a sump guard, HID high/lowbeams, LED interior, raised HD King Springs and 16's with Geo AT-S.

Here are some pics:

And more... the side on pic of the car was taken on the top of Mt Nameless, near Tom Price, which is the highest road in WA. Very steep and the Subi made it up easily.

G'day davos & :welcome: to ORS.
Looks like a fantastic trip. Those pics are magic. :raz:

Regards
Mr Turbo

Fantastic photos and great trip, by the looks of it... Can you detail a bit more your itinerary? I would love to plan a trip like that in a few months time and hopefully I can borrow some ideas?!?

Was the Outback alone on its own?

Cheers!
Pedro.

Thanks for the pics - I would love to get over that way someday too!

Thanks for the welcome. Longtime lurker!

Pezimm, My trip basically went like this:
Perth - Rocky Pool (Carnarvon) 1 night
Rocky Pool - Kennedy Range 1 night
Kennedy Range - Mt Augustus 2 nights
Mt Augustus - Karijini 3 nights
Karijini - Millstream 3 nights
Millstream - Exmouth 3 nights
Exmouth - Carnarvon 1 night
Carnarvon - Coalseam 1 night
Coalseam - Perth.

Sounds full on, but it didn't feel like we were constantly driving. The Outback was on its own, just myself and my girlfriend. That being said the UHF did keep us company. I took the back seat base out and folded the seats down, creating a 'undershelf' and stored mats, bags, snorkelling gear and tent under there. Worked well.

Let us know if you want to know anythign else. Happy to help.

Dave

Most of the time you hear people talking about the Kimberlies but the Pilbara is a truly spectacular place.
I spent a couple of nights at Dales George in Karijini National Park and was enjoying the 'serenity'. Birds singing etc, and than this goose and his partner turned up with the full rig and set up. Took them an hour and they had everything. Microwave, TV, Dish, Solar Panels. They then made dinner and sat in the front of a very loud TV.
I left the next morning. Didn't even say :welcome: to them!!:yell::sad:

Silver, I think you forgot the bane of almost all of our camps, Generators! I'm sure if they had all the kit, they would've needed a genny to run it. Dales was so full that they were putting people with generators everywhere so there was a din till 8pm every night. Now thats serenity.

I did indeed forget the gennie!!! I reckon only 4 stroke gennies should be allowed with a noise compliance plate below a certain decibel level and a 'turn off' time should be stipulated.
Bloody incredible that you would want to drive 1000's of klms to watch bloody TV!!
And i hate barking dogs also!!
Just getting cranky in my advancing years i guess.:)
