hood scope

So I have a '99 Outback Legacy and have been looking at that hood scoop that is purly for looks as I can tell, has anyone modded that scoop to work as an air intake??? I mean I haven't been able to find a cold air intake, but was thinking I could use that as a ram air (same concept as a cold air...
