front vlsd in forester

Gidday All I don't even know if this is possible, but can the front open diff of SG -> Foresters be replaced with the vLSD unit from the rear diff? Has anyone done this? If so, what sort of costs were incurred / benefits achieved? How does it affect handling, on-road drive-ability...
