Hey guys. Got this email through the other day:

Cap locker diff lock for your Subaru

Uneek 4x4 is ready to develop the CAP Locker diff lock for Subaru's but we need a bit more info from everybody.

If you are legitimately interested in this product we need your help to progress. We will be running this as a crowd funded project to develop the product. This way, we can ensure we get enough interested people to progress and are not left with a ton of un-sell-able diff locks.

As part of crowd funding you will get a nice discount on the product because you pay early.

So after looking at a few Subaru Diffs it looks like we are going to have to make a full replacement style diff lock. What this means is it will be a more traditional diff lock where we supply a complete new casing with new gears. This differs from our partial replacement where only a bearing cap is replaced. Unfortunately we've had to go this way due to the design of the Subaru diff.It does mean a more expensive part as we have to make more components.

So If you still want one of these lockers, please replay back via email to sales@uneek4x4.com.au with the following information
Your name
your phone number
Vehicle you've got.
Once we get enough people interested to fund the project we will proceed to take $1000 deposit for the project and develop the product.

We will then need a few individuals to test the product for us before mass production after the design is done.

It is estimated that the retail price of each locker (remember low volume here) will be $1,800AUD and your total will be $1400, so you'll get a $400 saving off the locker. It may take 4-8 months from start till you get the locker.

Thanks for your patients and looking forward to hearing from you all

Cheers

David

Sounds a very risky investment - especially if the diff lock is anything like their spelling! :iconwink:

They are a fairly new group to the locker market and currently only have lockers for a few models.
It is the only manufacturer who have considered a Subaru diff lock.

I know I am in. I hope enough people will commit to make this a reality.

Hint hint...

I would have been very interested a few years back but now I'm very happy with the Quaife helicals front and rear.

Have sent these guys an email a week or so ago. Waiting on a reply back.

Very keen to put one of these through the motions. Its the answer to all my offroad problems!

These guys have 2 of my diffs to work on. Last time I spoke to them they had 25 people ready to commit & needed a minimum of 30 but possibly as many as 50

The kit will contain all new:
diff carrier – billet steel spider gears
bearings,
switch,
air line.

You will need to drill & tap a hole in the rear plate as per any 4wd locker installation (videos on YouTube – google ARB diff locker installation)

This will be an absolute game changer!! It's been something we've been wanting for so many years but never had anyone with the ability to produce a locker who was willing to do a production run for our small market.

There is every chance there will only be one production run. This is what happened with the Modena front LSD for the auto boxes, and the Detroit rear locker. These are now highly sought after & very valuable.

If you get your name in on this first run, you may have something that not only transforms your Subaru's offroad ability but actually increases in value. It could even double!

If you don't get your name down you may miss out altogether so I suggest if you're interested, don't sit on the fence to wait & see, jump in. I certainly will be!! :monkeydance:
