2001 sf with kybgr2 struts and king raising springs
During a long really fun day of offroading at soggy lake, and then john bull trail (only made it about 1/3 of the way up john bull, its a gnarly jeep rock crawling trail, my major setback was not having a low enough gear)
then i started to hear this gnarly loug clunking noise coming from the font suspension, concerned i stopped and took a through look thinking i may have snapped something, but everything looked great, and since it was running amazing and still felt good i kept going a little longer.
and it drove home 2hrs perfectly on the freeway:)

when i got home i opened the hood to check it anything had come loose and to my surprise both of my tophats were completely shredded!
i was amazed hahaha

has anyone ever had this happen? or heard of it happening?

i called Kyle at Jacksonrally.com to tell him what happened and see if he knew what to do, and he knew exactly what happened. the struts arent rated for the crazy stiffeness of the king springs so they were extending too hard for the tophat to handle. so i ordered a set of "group n" tophats and kyle is going to install limit straps so this wont happen again:)

p.s. they guys at jackson rally are awesome!

Those are blown alright!!! Looks like the strut pushed through the top hat. I know the bearings wear out, perhaps the bearings just exploded.

Good luck with the new ones!!! Tell the Jackson Rally folks they need to come on 'board' here.:iconwink:
