hey guys and gals, new member from new zealand, picked this 98 forester up for $1000 (nz dollar), comes with a fully rebuilt motor with about 20 k on the clock, high/low transfer case, new brakes, new front tires and a few other bits and pieces, going to turn it into a expedition type deal, so much awesome photography around nz this is the perfect car to get out and about in

welcome. amazing that more NZ coming here. and they love subarus. but cant look at those rims. paint them or scrap them to metal. haha but they amazing rims for offroading. you dont need much else.

oh trust me i know they are crap lol, but they are included in the list of "stuff to do", Those and a decent sump guard are on the top at the moment

not going to go mad with it, hopefully turn it into a expedition type wagon, gravel roads, small stream crossings that sort of thing, I do a lot of photography so i like to go where the tourists can't access or have never been before

Welcome nzsubi - you're certainly in the right place for photography! NZ is a beautiful country indeed. I once drove in winter from Christchurch to Wanaka for skiing at Treble Cone and Cardrona then a day visit to Queenstown; beautiful drives!

yeah both sides appreciate each others countries a lot, met a lot of aussies here and they say the same thing, but i think it would be actually cheaper for me to fly across the "ditch" and buy parts there than it would be in NZ

I've sourced parts, mainly sensors, from the USA in the past and even including shipping it's been cheaper than buying here. jackie.whetzler@annapolissubaru.com is the contact; she really knows her stuff.
