Hi all

Im wondering just how much my stock suspension has sagged over time because right now its feeling pretty low and stuffed.

If people could measure the distance between the centre of the wheel vertically upwards to the bottom of the guard (as shown in the picture below) and tell me what you are getting that would be great.

Mine currently is; 43cm in the front and 46cm in the rear and that is with a 5cm strut block.

Also dont forget to add if you have lift blocks or raised springs.

Im thinking of going to standard height king springs so ill be interested to see how they compare.

Cheers

I'm not sure about measuring to the tops of the wheel well for comparison, they are a different shape and the rear will always be a little smaller. I'd suggest measuring to something that is level across the car, maybe the top of the lop plastic trim line?

I think to avoid the sag in the back of a forester go with HD springs in the rear and standard up front.

Thanks Kevin

Yeah its what I thought, my fronts are screwed, 5-6cm lower that factory. Guess its time for some new springs the question is though do I go standard or raised king springs.... more height would be great but the legality of it not so.

Also does anyone know why the rear springs are not compatible with the standard struts? Is it just the self leveling struts or is it all of them?

If you have self leveling struts (rear) you'll need to replace them aswell, if you go for raised springs. At least with the Kings anyway.

If you don't have self leveling struts, then you can use your existing struts.

I reckon if the springs are stuffed, it's also time to replace the struts.

Go and see Damien at Suspension City in Nth Melb. Tell him you heard about him from this forum and "Greg with the lifted blue forester". he will look after you.

re how screwed is your suspension

About the same as mine I'd reckon, I'm new to this forum so dont really know the ins and outs yet, has anyone heard of a company called hirise subarus? I found them via a google search, they're advertising a 2" lift kit for $390 and fitting for $150 but their ad doesn't detail what exactly they do ,or where they are located
