Not quite sure what I'm going to do with it yet, Would look pretty wild with a lift and some muddies on it..

Well, brakes now bled, although the ABS light is still showing so I probably need to research it a bit more (ABS light wasn't on until the brake line split)

I believe I can fly!

That H6 engine would look great in my engine bay with twin turbos …. sadly just a pipe dream.
But seriously I love the SVX well jel is wot the cool kids say !

I've thought the same, stick it in the Foz. Would be a hell of a job though, especially considering the age of the engine..

Here's a question: Is it possible to upgrade from OBD I to OBD II? The later model SVXs did come out with an early OBDII implementation, but apparently it's a bit weird.
Next question is, would it be worth it? Would there be a benefit?

You mean like this?

That link (if you need to log in to see it) is of an EG33 twin turbo build in a Gen4 Liberty. It should go “alright” once properly run in and tuned ;)

IT LIVES!
Tyres done today, sticking with the Potenza RE003 for the moment (I hear that Potenza a pretty good off road..) and..... 6 MONTHS REGO!!!!!

I should have done all this last year....

Took it for a bit of a run , I think the TCU might be having a few hiccups when it first starts as odd things happen shifting wise, and the power light flashes but then it settles down, the power light goes off and it behaves itself. So I've got to figure out what's going on and see if I can fix it. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Needs a new driver seatbelt too, but we snuck it past the roadworthy.
Also need to gas the aircon & maybe get the radio working/replaced.
Could do with a respray on the bumpers too, someone did a hella shifty job on touching it up, complete amateur.
Might even get the windows tinted.

Sounds pretty awesome when you open it up, but acceleration at low speed is a bit poope. I'm blaming the gearbox.

So my current order of events is:
  • Sort out why gearbox is being a bit iffy on start up.
  • Gas the aircon.
  • Tunes/Tinting.
I'd post some pictures but nothing looks different apart from the fact it's got number plates!

Oooh. it's morse code according to this site!
Could be expensive too.
Anyone got an STI 6 speed for sale with matching rear diff?

Edit: could be that I forgot to top up the gearbox when I fixed the hose to the tranny cooler too.. Oops. still got some showing on the dipstick, but not much. I knew there was something I needed to do, it's been nagging at me.

Hopefully it's just the fluid that needs topping up. Which fluid do you wish to put in?

Also, how much did the inspection cost to get it to a roadworthy status? Cheers.

I've got no idea, never owned an auto, even though I trained to work on automatics (for a grand total of two weeks, I didn't really intend to get the job, but they offered it to me).
Probably whatever Supercheap recommends via their in-store computer thingy.

Would be awesome with a six speed💪

Wondering if an external A/T oil cooler from an SG forester would fit on the SVX...
will check out over the next couple of days.

SGs don’t have an external trans cooler from factory. I believe they were part of a heavy duty tow pack.

Realistically you can put any sort of external cooler on. Keep the cooler/warmer in the radiator to maintain proper running temp ;)

Cheers

An update of the Trials & Tribulations of the SVX.

So my baby has been in at the doctors for a few months now, trying to get the transmission working properly.
We're currently at the stage of getting under the dash to check the TCM. If that's dodgy, there is a possibility that it can be repaired. The Auto mechanic has contacts..
If we can't repair, the next option is to investigate whether we can put the 4EAT out of the parts car into it (it's doable apparently, will require taking the diff and probably all the axles as well) failing that it's a manual swap, currently my least desirable option.

On the plus side, the Air-conditioning should be working a treat. Had that refreshed by the workshop next to the Auto Transmission specialist.

The auto mechanic was offered around the $7k mark for it by some random who wandered off the street a couple of weeks back. That made me feel a bit better as it's a reasonable chunk more than I paid for it, even including the work done so far.
