Gidday Silver

What they are recommending is what I did, all those years ago.

I made a "contract" with myself. I bought a carton of fags, and said that when they were gone, I wouldn't smoke ever again.

I had my last one at 1435H on 22 June 1982 ...
We were allowed to smoke in the office at work in those days, can you believe!

Keep up your resolve, mate.

BTW, the Isuzu solution looks like it could be a winner. Pretty easy to steal, apparently, but pretty safe for that kind of vehicle.

Also BTW, my brother in law (smoker) has just been diagnosed with a brain tumour - secondary from the one in his lung ... .

Keep up the good work mate.
A few of the blokes I work with (4 actually) are doing the "Champix diet" at the moment & are having great success with it.
There are 2 others that also went with the Champix (6mths & 13mths ago) & have been smoke free since.

I too have made a "contract" with myself to quit.
I did think about the Champix way, but have decided on a different way after looking into it further (for personal, medical reasons)

Anyway, time (next 2-3mths) will tell as to whether my way works.

And once again, well done silver & keep up the great work.

Regards
Mr Turbo

Great strides you leap ahead with Silver. Every day is one step closer to your ultimate goal. I didn't have Champix or any other help when I stopped. For 15 years I completely didn't smoke at all then took it up in the blink of an eye in a moment of weakness.

The doctor one new years eve told me to go straight home to bed. Do not smoke. Do not drink. Go to bed and rest. Pneumonia was the best cure for smoking known to man.

Many months later... smoke free and cured of Pneumonia, I weakened. But... my choice was some manky cigar my son had "saved" for a special occasion. Every time I felt the urge to smoke, I re-lit up that stinky old manky cigar and nearly vomited after 2 puffs. Enough to cure anybody methinks.

You will wonder how you ever had time to smoke once the habit is gone for good :-) Great job Silver!

Best regards,

I've not looked in to the 'stealability' of the Dmax but surely couldn't be as easy as the Hilux used to be. I am pretty sure they have an immobiliser as standard these days and have just been upgraded to 5 stars in the safety area.
Well today was different as far as smoking goes. The bigger dose of Champix must be kicking in as I can noticed a reduced urge to smoke. When I went fishing today I only took 1 smoke with me and had that early and survived the day quite well. I got home about 1.30pm and had another smoke about 2.15 or so and as of this post have had only 1 more.
I've probably smoked only about 1/3 of what I usually do.
Tomorrow the full dose starts, which is double the dose I am taking now.
Looking pretty good really.
Not feeling stressed and no side effects to speak of. I was looking forward to some weird, colourful dreams that people say they have had but none for me as yet. It would have taken me back to my surfing/hippie/dropout days!!!

Today I am onto my 3rd day of the full dose and it's working really well. I have had no side effects at all and feel good. Yesterday I had 4 smokes and today I am having a go at NO SMOKES. I think this will be the milestone and if I do it I will be happy.
Champix has without doubt made it so much easier to resist the urges to smoke. Can't believe it really. Good stuff. I don't feel stressed at all.
