Default Ridin' around...hop in.

Figured a pic thread here for my wanderings would work, here we go.
I've only had the Forester for a few weeks but it's already an obsession! It's made the old haunts interesting again even.

Shortoff Mtn, Linville Gorge NC.
Pics from old NC105, about 15 miles of gravel on the West rim. With the leaves off the trees there are great veiws most of the way. I shoulda taken more pics.

Forest fires over the last few years have taken a toll on the southern end of the gorge.

Lake James

Same trip, found a little snow near Roan Mtn. Tennessee, elevation 6000 ft.

Too bad this old road bed wasn't longer.

Default Closer to home.

Uwharrie National Forest is 5 minutes from my house and the place I run to when I need a quick fix. There's a few interesting spots and the OHV trails, which I rarely use anymore, there's a few gravel roads around though.

The infamous site 10 at West Morris Mountain Campground...

I gotta get a better camera.

What a beautiful area you have to explore & play in Gravel_Rocks

The colours of mother nature in autumn (fall) are always magic to see

I like your buddies cabin too, it's a beauty

You're right Mr T, the Appalachians, about 2 hours from home, offer alot of interesting nooks, crannies and flavors that I never get tired of.
My buds cabin was the scene of much hooliganism years ago. He really enjoys hearing about folks reaction to its pics on the net, maybe he won't dismantle it now!

Haha, I figurered you'd been to LG since Brown Mtn is just east of there.
Naw, hadn't seen his FB page but did hear from him while campin' at URE a couple of years ago!

Default Took a short local ride yesterday.

Found some dirt stuff I'd never been on.

Carolina clay.

The Little River.

My favorite road sign...
