Forester S3 light bar mounting

That's a low life act.
 
The SG must have a lot stronger plastic on the front bumper than my SH. The number plate screws into it but it flexes a lot and I doubt it would give a secure enough mount for the light bar.
 
BW, I seem to recall that the number plate screws into the front bumper support/crush bar, and it is very strong. Too late for me to check now, mine (no longer on my car) is out in the garage.
 
Are you talking about the SG or SH. I think you have both?
 
On the SG it just screws into the plastic.

Check your SH. You'll find it's the same.

I'll pull my number plate off tomorrow and maybe cut a bit of the front bumper out between the number plate screw holes to see exactly what's behind. I might be able to use longer self tappers to screw into something solid.
 
Sorry Ben. I didn't look and thought it was Ratbag replying. The suggestion to check the SH was for him, as I realise you don't have one. :biggrin:
