I took the family out last friday to do some hiking near Estes Park. We went up to Pierson Park rd. It's a moderate trail and I've been itching to do it since doing Pole Hill a few weeks ago. We've decided to hike it first, check it out before we drove it, see if it is doable in the OBW. We drove up the first few hundred yards which was a steep hill from Estes, then parked at top, and hiked about 1.5-2 miles then turned around and hiked back. We've turned around when we reached a section that looked very fun, steep downhill with rocks :raz: I was able to talk Lisa into letting me drive a short portion of the trail. There's a fun loop at the beginning of the trail that's about 3 miles long, so we drove that instead of the whole trail. Being by ourselves, we didn't want to risk getting stuck or broken down, but we want to give it a try soon.
Anyways, I've taken some video. Only got a few outside shots as it was getting late, but with a little editing they're worth the watch. I've mounted the camera on the outside of the car for the most part, but those clips are long and boring (pretty though).
Anyways...

'Drive Over' is awesome!!! Your very brave.:)
I've figured I had a 50/50 chance of getting that perfect shot  Needless to say that Lisa wasn't happy with that... since it was a very recent birthday present from her  (but she did agree that it looks pretty sweet ;) )

Ok, finaly got the long video uploaded (~240MB). It's about 4 minutes, but the last 3 are sped up 2x. Wish I could drive that fast over those moguls, that'd be fun :D

I don't think he (or she) even realised you were even looking & filming at first.
Oh she did. She was just watching out for her chicks that were in the tall grass between us and her. Actually, I saw one fly out before I've spotted her. The chicks have blended in and were staying put while I was filming. I am really surprised the momma sat there so still though, especially with a 3yr old girl standing next to me itching to chase the birdie :p
