This is the road / off road test of the 2015 Outback by Rob Pepper. He gives it a pretty good review, but does comment on the CVT which mirrors some of the comments above.

Thanks for that link, HC. Interesting read.

Nice that he mentions our site here at the end of his article ... .

They have taken all the fun out of driving...........
The days when you actually had to think and plan seem to have gone. Except, of course, for a bit of off road driving.

Thanks for all the comments. Looks like it doesn't matter now as my wife and I just put down a deposit on an MY09 Forester XS Premium.

4EAT, Kim won't drive manual
Plus after my experience with the manual outback and its ecu programming I'm pretty happy to have the auto, much smoother drive.

Neither will my SWMBO, Phiz. Hers is the 4EAT Sportshift.

Yeah this one is sports shift too. It's a very nice car to drive. We pick it up on the 15th

The manual corners really well so long as the revs are up. 4500 and above. Under that and it is a slug. May just be taking a while to get over the diesel Rodeo but Sally's Corrolla is way more responsive.

You can that the D4S system for the rubbish performance.
Have you spoken with Matt Mcleod about a re-tune yet?
