stiquique SF STI AT

Hi Guys.

I have driving my SF STI AT in sand dunes for years! side by side with vitaras and jeeps. Very happy with the performance, and the 275 60 15 sand tires are gorgeous for this job.

BUT if you dont manage the low torque at low speeds, things can go very stucked!! and sometimes i cant get off the dunes if the car is partially deep in the sand.

So my way to go is put a NA Dual range in a MT turbo forester.

Im not sure if the better platform to start would be a SF turbo or a SG turbo. SF has 240 hp, but the SG has a more torquei 220hp engine (JDM CARS)

About the chassis, are both same strenght? or the older SF would be stronger??

Please take a look to my ride in action

Nice car (and girlfriend !).

You don't seem to have much wheel travel, did you disconnect the sway bars ? I think that you can put a 1,59:1 low range in your Foz as Venom and Dulagarl both have one with the H6 engine.

I like the white Foz too !

Hi there.

G'day stiquique

Awesome! :lildevil:

We would love to see more & hear exactly what you have done, esp suspension & engine mods. The best way is to start your own thread in Members Journals

Looking forward to more pics & info

your SF is AWESOME !!:surprised:

luving the stance of it ! are they widened steel rims ?
what are the specs on them and the tyre size choice ??!

cheers !

Your cars are amazing and it's a shame to have them hiding in this thread so I have made some site banners for you so it can go up the top of the site page with the others for everyone to see. Hope you like it..

If you like them and want them used as site banners just copy them to the Banner Competition thread and Mr T will consider them for the site rotor.

Yes, great modifications, we would like more details!

Those tires are soo fat!!

Since you're in S. America I would imagine you should be able to get a dual range EJ transmission. I don't think it would be a problem fitting it to your boosted engine, but perhaps you could refit the internals with STi gears (stronger).

Any dual range forester transmission should work, but unless its a 97-98 AUDM/JDM you'll want to change the low range gearset for a GL low.

Here is a link for fitting the 1.59:1 low gear in place of a 1.19:1 low in a NA dual range gearbox

And this thread will detail fitting a 1.59:1 low into a JDM 4.11 final drive dual range legacy transmission. There are some differences compared to the above fitment into a 3.90 or 3.70 axle ratio box.

great rig!

Ciao ciao!
