Hey guys and gals,
I'm looking for a 2" receiver for my 2008 Foz. When I do a search all I come up with is a 1 1/4". Anyone have any idea where I can get one? |

While it does not fit a 2008 this may help get on the right path:

I'm guessing you know this to be the case, but the reason they're all 1 1/4" is because the earlier Foresters have a lower towing rating.. so all the hitches are class 2.
Class 3 hitches are 2". You can buy adaptors, which may solve your issue, but don't go using them above their rated load. https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Acces...tch/80303.html

I think it would be easier to use the adapter or have the receiver bit cut off the 2008 hitch and weld on a new 2" receiver.

The complete tow bar is a rated component. It has to be able to withstand enormous forces exerted on it.
Any welding done would need to keep this in mind.

In Australia Hayman Reese make a heavy duty bar for the Forester with a 2 inch receiver. No idea if these are available in the US.
