G'day all,

A gen1 or gen 2 solid flywheel a direct replacement for the dual mass flywheel? Can I use the DMF's clutch pressure plate and all will work as it should?

I don't want to buy a kit - too many $$$s in that equation!

Cheers

I got a second hand Gen2 solid flywheel and clutch pressure plate from pick a part (thanks dad!).

It all bolts up. I found the throw out bearing to be the same part number between the Gen2 and Gen3. Clutch fork is different due to the change from cable to hydraulic actuation.

I'll update once it gets a test run as I'm waiting on inlet manifold gaskets...

No worries Kevin.

Turns out it's all Lego after all :D

The Gen2 solid flywheel and pressure plate fits and works in the Gen3 as a dual mass flywheel replacement.

Not bad for $60! Pick a part is your friend in this department ;)

And Dads of course! :)

Too right!

He even left without taking the money owed to him for the purchase of the parts! That's all put aside again waiting for the time we catch up again ;)

Still very stoked with how this clutch situation has worked out! Dunno if I'll be able to hand the Gen3 over to my sister when the time comes (once rego is sorted).

Cheers
