Don't include that as a test result! It was in a car with a EG33 swap and they put the car up against the house with 3 wheels on bitumen then did a 3 wheel burnout. It was also a cheap Autozone aftermarket axle

Definitely not a result of the locker!!

Correct it is an extreme test condition which only happens if you are aggressively rock climbing, :)

Would be good to see more testing of this “Russian Locker”, other than a small bank, and also a diagram of what the locker looks like, but any step forward is great news.

I for one will be very interested in the Torq Locker, as they are a proven product for many other Offroad vehicles.

I’m waiting for Mr Subieliftoz to fit his once he receives it and then let us know how he thinks it performs.

Cheers

scalman that's not a locker, at best it's a LSD

A locker is a very specific thing, it LOCKS the 2 axles together so they rotate at the SAME speed. If the lifted wheel spins while the wheel on the ground doesn't, it's not a locker

Look at 1:00 min, the lifted wheel is clearly seen spinning. This is not a locker

I saw that and thought the same thing!
I also thought it may have been VDC or something, but then thought if it’s a true Locker VDC shouldn’t kick in as usually (from my basic understanding) it only does this when is notices a wheel without traction.

What about the male stub axles?

Got it, mod the diff stub axle to take a C clip. Plug the hole that the bolt used to pass through.

Other option is custom shafts... not one I’d really want to pursue though.

It called locker because it locked both wheels in diagonal after one click. Lockers that are 70% are called lockers too in name and everyone knows what they are i dont see problem here. Matters how well they work.

It didn’t look like it in the vid you posted, some more vids of it working in different situations would help to make a final decision though.

Please don't call it that, you will confuse people new to lockers

A locker provides a solid 100% connection between the axles. It does this by pushing 2 sides together that have interlocking teeth. It's a solid connection with zero slip

If it is a device that has slip, no matter how much or how little, it's called a LSD. This is short for Limited Slip Diff

The name says it all, it's a diff with limited slip. Doesn't matter whether that slip is 1% or 99%, it's a LSD

To make it as clear as possible, it's impossible for a locker to have slip, only a LSD can do that

This helps me to understand more about the install procedure and how the locker actually works so thought you all might be interested too

Its very cool that finally a locker is specially made for the R160.

I think that it will be a better option to have it on the 4EAT thanks to the 4WD switch mod, the 5MT will probably need a 12kg, a 20kg or a DCCD center diff to be really efficient.
