Has anyone here had to get a replacement key and if so how did they go about it.
This is for Subaru's that have immobilisers.

My key is very worn, not copyable. And I'm also interested in getting a keyless transmitter for the central locking.

I enquired at a Subaru Dealer in Perth about a new key for my Foerster with central locking and imobilizer. I have the quote somewhere but it was around $480 or $430 for get one, cut it and program it and the existing one to my car.

They said it was going to take about 3weeks to get it in, cut and program.

I only have one original key and I have one other aftermarket one with no central locking but it does have the imobiliser in it and does start the car. I was given these when I bought the car :(

Ebay key programmed and cut by the shoe/watch/key dudes in the shopping malls. You need the code for the ECU/Ignition to program it though, my code is on a red plastic card.

That your key is not copyable is going to make that problematic though. Maybe call up some locksmiths and auto elecs to see what they have to say?
