Now that Rally has a rear locker, if he brakes one rear axle he can continue with the rear differential locked and still has one rear wheel drive and because he also has a DCCD, he will always have at least two wheel drive. So maybe no "need" to have a spare axle...

@ Rally, have you modified the cv axles or are they just standard STI's

I think the cv’s are standard. I wasn’t involved in this aspect of the project

The diff has been re-assembled and ready for installation. To make life easier, I removed the studs from the back of the diff, and will replace them with high tensile bolts. It makes it so much easier to install the diff. Diff breather also installed.

See how we go. I tend to go into hibernation over summer.

I took the car out to see how the locker worked. Only in my own street, and yes, it does work. Takes a bit longer to engage than I expected, but it works and that's the main thing. Further, more extensive testing in actual off road conditions is planned, but not sure when

Thats good news for the new year !

What do you mean by "longer than expected" ? Few meters rather than half wheel rotation ?

Yes. I haven't measured it, but it is more than a few metres. I might get in touch with Harrop to find out why.
