Lovely looking trip!

I was hoping for some water over the bonnet action in those pics

Cheers

I don't have a snorkel so I'm pretty tame on the water crossings I do.

Yeah fair call. Canít tell from the footage whether or not you have a snorkel. I know how nerve racking it can be!

Cheers

great car and action - whenever I have had any water fording action, I have always entered the water and held pace with the bow wave - this prevents the engine being flooded with water and conking out with wet ignition and so on. The engine sits in the 'wake' of the wave in effect. Pretty ballsy hitting that deeper stuff with what is a pretty light car.
Years ago (1987) I drove a 2 door 626 to Cape Tribulation, crossing tidal rivers Daintree > Cape Trib, there was a crossing with water across the width of the road - the copy book 4BY drivers across the other side indicating the right side was the way to go so in we went - the water got deeper and deeper, stayed with the wake with water up to the bottom of the mirrors actually and we came out the other side surprising the 4BY w@nkers (ball strangler shorts, reflector sunnies & pr0n star moustaches lol) with our success. The 626 went good on the day thankfully. Incidentally the water depth on the left was about a foot at the worst. Always pays to get out & check this stuff for yourself.
