Default Front Drive Shafts

Working on the principle that the Impreza and the Forester share(d) a common platform would a front drive shaft from a 2006 Impreza fit an MY03/2002 Forester?

An offer I can refuse, found out that they have different ends. One male/male, the other male/female.

Common platform but driveline differences. I think they're also different lengths
