I've just spent a few days canoeing more than 50km through the Lower Glenelg National Park. We carried all the gear in barrels and dry sacks, and camped on the bank of the river. Some really nice scenery, lots of limestone cliffs. There was one nice day with no wind, and thus flat water. The other days were horrible - heavy rain and gale force winds which caused waves so high they were breaking over the side of the canoe. There's nothing like pushing hard into a head wind with freezing water sloshing around your feet.

Awesome mate! I'm yet to get down that way!

Cheers

Sounds like you needed your wits about you, with the strong winds making it choppy on the water.
Great to see that you're still enjoying it despite that though :)

Yep. Terrible place. No-one should ever go there in my opinion.;)

Funnily enough we had the place to ourselves - didn't see another soul camping. Every other time I've been there it's been packed, but the camp sites were deserted. A couple of fisherman at the car-accessible piers, but that was it.

Looks great but I am quite worried about your severe facial disfigurement.....looks painful - lol.

Nah seriously, why are you concerned with concealing your identity?
We are all friends here aren't we?
