^ Rotten bad luck there, HC ... .

I once had a Fairlane run up the bum of my '68 LC deep well ute. I couldn't see where he had hit me, but it took the top off his radiator and engine ... Lovely bloke. All he could think of was if he had damaged my old wreck of a LC!

That sucks.... New bonnet, guard and headlight and your set. I'd just bend the bulbar back into place and call it a day.

Does your insurance cover fully repairing the bullbar?

Thanks Taza and RB. Davidov you have asked a good question!
The insurer has accepted the claim on the basis of a new bull bar. I thought they would want it repaired. Unfortunately the bull bar manufacturer does not reopen until 12 January and will take around 3 weeks to deliver a new bar. The damage to the existing bar is mainly the bent right hand hoop. If the repairer is going to dump it I want to try and get hold of it. In regard to the rest of the car the bonnet, front guard and headlight are being replaced and some minor damage to the inner guard around the headlight is being straightened.
I still retain my rating one but have to pay the excess of $650.
The outcome could have been a lot worse !

Picked up a set of WRC series special License Plates for the GreenSheep!
So happy with these, was really wanting AWD-WRC, but couldn't find out who owned them or if they were selling.
Big thanks to Stilson for tracking them down and offering them to me!
BE9-WRC was going to be my next best plate but I don't need to worry about that now!

Also purchased and installed a set of RokBlox mudflaps recently. Perfect and easy fit, look and feel tough, they're not flappy and haven't had any marks from scraping as yet...time will tell.

havachat, that sucks about your Foz. Glad they're replacing the bar though.

TR, nice plates!

My starter motor has progressively been getting worse, so I went to the wrecker to get a new one, from a '98 auto. Found a nice one, looks good condition, the gear moves very nicely. Went to fit it, wrong size!

So I used poured shellite inside the old one to clean, works well most of the time now. Have to chase down another one though.

Starter motor for sale! $40

HC, bummer about your foz, at least no one was hurt. Sounds like your insurer is coming to the party, so all good mate. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone well over Christmas and the festive period, and thanks for contributing to this important resource of info. drive safely.
Best Regards
Mike

Congrats on getting the great plates for the GreenSheep, Tom .

Nice Xmas present to yourself, and very kind of ST to do that for you. Hardly surprising though - he's that kind of person ... .

You will have to start a build thread for the GS.

Happy and safe Christmas and New Year to you and yours.

Yesterday I installed a snorkel on my jackaroo. It was very painful cutting up perfectly fine panels!

Well done, Twink.

I know that feeling. I certainly don't think I would be brave enough to do that on anything newer than 'old' ... If you get my drift!
