Quick Update:

The bed liner is holding up very well. I think the trick is more coats, also roughing up the plastic a bit gives it better grip. Thoroughly recommend it.

On the not so good front appears to be leaking a bit more oil than it used to, trying to track down where it's coming from is proving to be a lot harder than I thought. I think I'm going to have to do the rocker cover seals sooner than later,
I'm worried that it might be something more than that.. the oil appers to be coming down LH the mount onto the crossmember thingy and dripping out at the lowest point. It's quite clean..

Not enough to require topping up with oil since lasst service, about 2,500kms ago (normally oil change every 5000kms ).

Just seems to be more of it coming out. got it booked into the mechanic on monday for a look. Did notice a bit of oil on what looks like a seal on the rear end of the rocker cover.

I know nothing about subaru engines. They might look a bit like a beetle engine but that's about it (except for the EG and H6 which look more like a porsche. ).

so how it looks now ? i mean car with that bed liner ? so um its not that super hard surface where you can scratch it with screwdriver and nothing will happen ? so like hard logs in bush might still scratch it , what you think ?

The stuff I've used is literally called 'Bed Liner' but it's not that super hard stuff, it's meant to be quite flexible.
Haven't noticed any chips or anything and haven't hit anything to test it.

It's stuck a lot bettter now over time than it did originally certainly not peeling if you give it a bit of a jab with a screwdriver. I reckon if you threw on another single coat every month or so and ended putting 3 or so coats on it it you'd end up with something pretty resistant.
It's not line-ex, but it's great value for money.

The paint specialist I went to poo-pooed the idea of me using it on the guards, said it would come right off due to the plastic. So did the auto spray painter I spoke to about it. They're wrong.

Headlight happy snaps, taken with phone coz I couldn't figure out how to take proper pics in the dark with the proper camera.

Low beam

High Beam

Blitz 240s &high Beam

When I'm next out of town on a decent bit of straight flat road at night I'll try and get some better ones, because the phone doesn't do it justice and the bit of road was too short.

I think I've got to tilt the LH spot up a bit too, it's a little low.
What surprised me when looking at the spotties from the front was that the spotties didn't look that much brighter than the high beam. I didn't stand in front of them though.

One heck of a difference from behind them though.

Happy Snap time, had the tinting redone, partly covered under warranty so saved a few dollars there:
