Thats brilliant
But it does lead me to ask one question though....
Since I live in a land down under, does that mean I've fitted my snorkel upside down ??

Regards

It's not our fault if someone in the northern hemisphere printed the map of the world upside down and everyone else followed. The good news is that you've all seen the correct map. Pleased to be of help to our friends down there in the north. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to correct the seasons so that Christmas is in the middle of summer like it is here.

Explains why my car is in the air more than on the ground

Wonderful pair of maps thanks mate.

I have been looking for an equal area map on and off for years.

There is still that distortion between 45 and 90, but still very interesting, nonetheless.

Most people do not understand that the standard Mercator projection distorts the apparent size of North/South continents, such as South America, Africa and India, making them appear much smaller in area than they really are.

Notice how the "tops" of both S.America and Africa in these maps appear to be less in width compared with their "tails" than they are in a Mercator projection map?

Also very nice to have one that's the 'right' way up, LOL .

When the magnetic field of the Earth flips sometime soon (it has been coming for well over a century now, gradually weakening), magnetic North will be over central Antarctica as well.

Hrmm, but you never see Santa in shorts doing Christmas, so winter is in the proper month.

Silly people, all that blood going to your heads.

All paid up.

It's a great site, with terrific members.

It is also very well run, with a light touch of moderation when we all get out of hand ...

Yes I too have been known to have the occasional b!tch about some things at one time or another I must admit
But having a great bunch of people who are well behaved makes the ORS site the great site it is
