Default What's happening in Texas USA?

So I hear there is a new race track in the USA called the Circuit of the Americas, and is set to stage F1 and MotoGP. I hear it is quite a track, and was listening to Kevin Shwantz talk about it. Are any of the Americans in that part of the country aware of what is going on? If I were in the US, I'd be quite tempted to go there if the track is as good as they say.

Geez! I knew it was big news around the country, but had not idea it got down there. It's located right outside of Austin, about 40 miles from here. This track looks insane! I can't recall when they said it was suppose to be completed, but it's not far off. I plan to go every time there's a race & i have the chance.

Here's a good news report on it. http://weareaustin.com/fulltext/?nxd_id=136856

I think thats the one I saw on the news last night where Webber was in a driving simulator on. It sure looks like an awesome track alright.

When it involves F1 and Moto GP, it will always be world news. Geez I am tempted to go there myself, especially with the strength of the Au$ against the US$. But which race? F1 to see Mark Webber, or MotoGP to see Casey Stoner- both have a realistic chance of winning? Yes, I'd love to do both but I also plan on going to Turkey in 2015 and plane tickets cost more than bus tickets

Thats right, the US dollar is crumbling thanks to our "lets spend 100x's more money than we ever take in" govt to help give some tribe in Africa an abortion clinic... That & with how low costs everything is out here, you could make out like a bandit.

Ah, here's the teaser. Tried to get it to where you could watch on here, but it wouldn't do it. Rally, if you come this far, i will put you up at the luxurious mountain view resort here in Wimberley for a couple nights.

Might have to take a trip to TX in a couple of years. I really, really want to go see an F1 race. Guess I could go to Indy, but I've got friends in Austin.

I've not been to an F1 race- even though Melbourne is not that far away. But I did get to hear one at Mt Panorama recently, and it sounded sensational. Bathurst is 6.1 km's around, and has noticeable elevation changes and you can hear the car almost the entire lap from the top of the mountain- apparently from the bottom you can hear it the whole way round. There are new regulations for F1 which I hope will not detract from the sound- but what they have today is worth going just to hear it! The Indy track looks pretty boring and is just too artificial. This one in Texas really looks the goods on paper. Thanks for the offer Matt- if I do head to your part of the US I'll let you know.
