Default L series ," Ive been everywhere man"

Whats the most kms travelled in a L series? I got a 88 model, the car just loves rolling along. I got 322000kms on the clock now. treated her the timing belt / water pump about 5000 kms ago, fiddly but rewarding job. Now she is happy as, even when its loaded up with all my tools & scaffolding!
I collected a spare motor & gearbox but dont think i will use it, give me a shout if its handy for you

G'day Scphill,

My L series currently has 520,000km on it - but not running a stock drivetrain. I have about 150k km on the running gear in there at the moment. The k's are just what the body has done in total.

What those k's can't show is the immense offroading it's done in its time.

When looked after any vehicle should be able to go a fair distance without any major issues. Our VT "bommodore" (as many know them as) is coming up on 360k km, we've had it since 70k km and haven't done anything major other than a fuel pump, suspension bushes, crank sensor and inlet manifold gaskets. Still runs like a dream and does everything we ask of it. It loves country k's and thus is a good cruiser.

Someone else worth chiming in is @Beigewagon - he's got an original L series that's pulling some high km these days. His would be a better comparison than mine

Cheers

Bennie

My 1990 wagon is now over 580,000 k's. The last 6-7 years it has slowed down considerably due having another as a daily driver. It is a 1994 L that has over 370,000 ks.

Quite a few of the 580k have been hard off road, but is now semi retired to more touring and lighter off road. ( lack of available time, not due to lack of ability or interest). It hasn't been out for about 4 months.

Bennie, the blue car is still going as my daily, hasn't missed a beat.

The other extreme is my 1985 vortex EA82, has only just clocked 225,000.

Beigewagon.

That's awesome Beigewagon! Glad to hear you've still got it. I saw a tidy silver one in Bendigo today, enduro. Had a very quiet ea82 in it!

Cheers

I've got a 93 still running with 480,000, all original drivetrain as far as I can tell. It needs a bunch of work and may be getting retired for parts now. Impressed me though, I'd be very surprised if my EJ25 lasts that long.
