So I've drilled and cut a bunch of holes in my car (snorkel fit).
Question is: what's the best/easiest/cheapest thing to do to the holes for rust prevention?
I was thinking of just using sikkaflex, as I'll be putting a heap of that around the holes anyway.

Or should I treat the metal with some rust prevention stuff first, if so (and remembering I'm a cheaparse and Jack's a rat) what?

All suggestions considered!

I usually will give it spray with anti-rust paint available from Bunnings.

That's the way I was thinking of going. Not sure how to do the bits inside the guard pretty tight in there. It's about 98% humidity here at the moment, not the best painting weather...

With the inner guard shield removed, or partially removed, just spray it up there and hope for the best :iconwink:

Sika themselves recommend pre-treatment of some sort.

The guard's not really a worry - bolt on, bolt off.

I'd be very concerned and careful with treatment if you've put mounting holes in your A-pillar.

after welding metal we use Zink spray , could be good too. i used antirust paint too or some other 3in1 that you can paint on rust no matter. they hold very good.

Mmm. don't want that rusting out.
