Default Transponder Keys

Stumbled upon 2 eBay sellers with blank early model transponder keys:

... just check Luva of the Nacha... the first link has no chip in them, just key blank and shell. The second link includes chip ;-)

Best regards,

Just bought an Alpha Corp SG remote key off ebay today, $37 delivered!

Worth the risk for a super rare spare key project.

That's a fantastic price, Pigs.

Does it work?

You need to have it cut, and programmed.

I have a chipped key (no remote stuff) as well as the OEM spare. I also have a basic key that will open the door and crank the engine, but will not start the car. I keep that one in a Keytainer on the car, just in case I manage to work out how to lock the keys in my car when I am a long way away from home ...

[EDIT]

There is a way to lock the keys in the car. I knew there had to be ...

Put keys in car

Push internal lock of driver's side door into the locked position with the other doors and tailgate shut

Shut D/S door while holding the handle in the open position.

Just like in the old days, really. BUT a lot harder to do this accidentally!

[end edit]

Want to find out about Subaru key particulars:

Have you cracked your key open? It's easy to do...
there is a big square black thing (transponder), which I assume is it... mine has

1024
091130VD

on it.

there is also a tiny silver thing with

43392
EA9YP

433.92 is a frequency used by transponders...

Gidday Pigs

There's a post somewhere on this forum explaining how to reprogram a key to work with the immobiliser. I will try to find it.

If you find out where to get the blank key tangs, please let us all know ...

The best and cheapest way to buy the remote key blade is to get an after-market replica shell with NSN14T key profile key blank.

or
