So i have this repeating humming noise when I go over 80km/h. It basically sounds like "hummm, hummm, hummm". It gets louder when i steer gently right and softer when i turn gently left. Any Ideas?

Its not related to throttle input. I have roof racks, but i have never heard it before. I don't think its the bearings as I have only done 30,000k's.

Thanks in Advance.

It is certainly demonstrating the symptoms of a bearing on the way out.

This afternoon I raised both front tires off the ground and they seemed solid. No vibrations in the coils as the wheels rotated. I'm thinking maybe wheel alignment or bearings?

Very possible to be a wheel bearing, been through any water in those 30,000km?

Detecting if it's the wheel bearing is very difficult as there aren't any obvious signs such as the wheel moving in and out. I recommend taking it to a mechanic shop and getting them to listen to the wheel bearing while its moving with a stethoscope or do it yourself if you have the right stuff! Could also be the diff but shouldn't change volume with turning if its that.

Subaru say it's the front right bearing. Fixing it tomorrow under warranty. Hopefully that fixes it.

Thanks again.

Great - glad it's going to be resolved; thanks for the update.
