Default Hello from Detroit

What's up guys,

New to the forum (obviously) haha. I'm on my 3rd Subaru, went from an 02 WRX, 04 Forester 2.5xt and now on an 06 Forester 2.5.... First time w/o a turbo on my scoob, but love the ride like always regardless. Not too concerned with speed for this foz as I am about getting her off road when I find the time. Right now it's logo'd up for my company and gets used as a delivery vehicle but only being 2-4 hours from some great off road terrain in Northern MI, I would like to get further off road on camp and snowboard trips. Looking forward to reading and contributing when I find time to spend on here.

Cheers

Welcome. Yes, a Subaru should be great for UP and northern LP.

A Subie Lift OZ could help increase the ground clearance w/o road sacrifices.

Do you plan on a winch? I am no fan of increased weight but I figure in MI that would be reasonable enough. If you want portable, you could use Terra 4500 with double line (Primitive sell it for fixed front with a Foz winch mount but they have it overpriced and I am not sure if the mount fits your model). It is pretty light and compact and with dual line should be plenty capable enough. I liked that plus a HiLift winch extension strap but decided against it because mud is easily avoided in the Southwest by not traveling at certain times of the year and because natural anchor points are a rarity.
