Anybody watch the Winter X Games in Aspen last night? Proud to say this guy right here, my cousin , went on to win the gold after this mishap in the first heat!

Not bad for a couple Texas boys who's only been playin on sleds for a couple years now

Just moments after this run, his brother Caleb- who ended up taking the bronze - almost did the same exact thing but manage to hang on by the fingernails!

Here's a run from last years that actually got them disqualified. Needless to say, the fans LOVED IT, but the judges didnt....

Wow, thats your cousin, please pass on my congrats for his gold medal win :bananatoast:& to his brother for his bronze medal also :bananatoast:
Your not wrong about just hanging on by the fingertips  It was a great save thats for sure

It's a shame that they were disqualified for the double act by the judges :mob:

If was up to the crowd instead of the judges, I'm convinced they would have won, hands down, going by the roar they made :raz:
They absolutely loved it :woohoo: :yourock: :woohoo:

Congrats to both of them!!! That was awesome. And their double run was sweet, no way they should have been disqualified, but they sure pleased the fans and thats what its all about.

Yep awesome effort by both, esp considering which state they're from! :monkeydance:I'm sure they must have some experience on ATVs to get so good...

Usually i would brag about 'em, but damn i sure was proud! Those 2 are really changing the face of that sport. They have in fact been competing in Quad/4wheeler events for about 10yrs, so they def have the background for it.

Man it was a great final day for Winter X.
Colten ended up getting the silver in the best trick, only coming in 2nd to a guy who landed the FIRST EVER front flip on a snow mobile. Dude was on cloud 9!

How you turn a 450lb snowmobile forward like that is beyond me...

This dude went for the double backflip & it didnt turn out so well for him..

And of course, Shaun Whites Perfect score 100 final run. It's pretty easy to see why he's been on a planet of his own for the last 5yrs. Nobody can touch his tricks or air! I don't know about those skinny pants, but they do say they reduce drag by nearly 20% & one less mph on the pipe equates to 3 less feet in air...More power to him for makin it work!

That attempt at the double back flip was an awesome effort I must say :)
Just a shame he didn't quite make it stick :sadbanana:All I can really say is that the landing must have hurt big time :o

But that forward somersault was amazing :rock:

A year ago i was boasting my cousins talents, now I couldn't be more sad and heartbroken for them  . For anyone tuned in to X Games this past week has probably heard about the horrific crash involving Caleb. After several downturns in his health, he lost his battle this morning and passed away. This vibrant life was only 25yrs old.
As gut-wrenching as it's been, i couldn't be prouder of the outpouring of support shown for him and his family from all over the world. Even a Aussie sledder friend that goes by the name "Jackson Jacko" is auctioning off his sled to help pay for the medical bills.
Even though it had been several years since we last hung out due to his touring all over the world, i had looked forward to the next time we would meet to hear all his stories first hand. I still plan to hear them, now i will just have to wait longer.

Rest in Peace Superman, i'm going to miss you :(

Caleb's Tribute

I'm very sorry to hear of Caleb passing. Its always such a tragedy when someone dies so young, esp when they have so much living to do. My thoughts & prayers go out to you & all those who love Caleb.

My view is that he isnt gone, that his memories remain & his spirit is still with us....
