Hi there,

I have a 2008 forester X premium it has 170hp@6000 rpm
167 ft lbs torque @ 4400 rpm and I am looking to find out what EJ motor it has. JFISG6 are the first six of my vin# if that helps. I know that engine in the 2004 to 2013 Forester XT is the EJ255?

Miles:biggrin:

The block capacity should be cast on the block on the front l/h side when facing the car.

I also believe that many Foresters in other parts of the world (i.e. not Australian) were fitted with the EJ20 motor.

The 2005-2008 SG series II in Oz had the EJ253 engine as standard in all flavours of naturally aspirated engines. This was replaced by the FB25 in around 2012 in the SH.

It would be an EJ25 in the US SG 2008 Foz and I imagine it's the same motor as down-under. For production purposes I can't see them using a different variant of that motor.

be careful there. USDM != AUDM/EDM != JDM

Kevin, a lot of countries stayed with the EJ20 after the SF. Europe and Russia being two. I have some recollection that the USA did also, but I could well be wrong.
