YotaRu goes down as one of my favorite vehicles EVER!!! Missing it terribly, and would have kept it if it was affordable. For getting back and forth to work and hauling the kids around, it was just time for something more comfortable and, due to lots of little things starting to worry me, more reliable.

I'm still up in the air about off roading the Outback. Another reason for getting it, is so I can pass it down to my son in four years when he starts driving. I may just leave the mods up to him.

Oh, and 2.5n/a with an, an, an, hard to say it.......AT (better for off road anyway)

I've done alot of riding in WNC/Tn. but figure you know about some good stuff. I may have to come up and follow you around sometime.

Let me know if you're ever up in the area. Don't know of any 'trails' doable without a lifted Subie, but I know the gravel roads in Pisgah around here like the back of my hand.

First, and foremost mod...

Then...

Goodbye carpet floor mats.

In with the all weather floor mats from YotaRu, a little trimming and they fit just fine.

I did the rears too, but I wasn't going to bother with a pic. Other than that, I've just been storing and stashing things. Folding shovel in the spare tire well, paper work...etc.

Most of you probably don't know this, but YotaRu never had a functioning stereo, had one but the CD player didn't work and the OEM speakers were decayed beyond audibility, so now I have tunes!!! Got a healthy stash of CD's in there, and I even have a cassette deck which I WILL use (yes, I'm that old).

I'll agree with you for the floor mats. Nothing (in my opinion) beats the rubber ones. Especially when it come to cleaning them

As a matter of interest, how many miles are there on the clock ?

Great to hear you've also got a stereo that works mate. You definitely need tunes when you on a road trip thats for sure

Regards
Mr Turbo

It certainly has been looked after well, and no rust on it anywhere. there was an '02 next to it with fewer miles on it, but it had a good sized rust spot on the passenger side rear fender, no thanks.

It does have a few battle scars, but nothing unexpected for having...

...140k mi. (225k km.) on the odo. Also, new head gaskets, timing belt, water pump etc. at 114k mi.

The tunes are helping with an overall carljwnc attitude adjust, a fine thing!!!

Thought I had given away or modified all my AT shift knobs for Yota use...not so, found one the other day. Not my finest shift knob creation, but it will do for a while.

Carl: Let me congratulate you again here on ORS on your new Outback! I have nothing against Yotas. As you know, I drove a 1998 diesel Land Cruiser while living in West Africa and loved it. But you in anything other than a Subaru? It just didn't feel right.

Rock on -- in a Subaru!

Thanks Escher. I am really lovin' being back in the Subie. Will be moving back to a Yota down the road though, FJ Cruiser after I pass this one down to my son.
