That's how a locksmith clones the OEM key to a chipped key. Had it done within one hour of buying Roo2. Took about ten minutes to cut the key and clone it. Locksmiths have a computer that reads an existing key. Those machines are not available to the general public.

True, but when all is said and done, you still have to get a blank and cut it for the particular car's physical locks.

Keyless cars are probably more at risk than those of our vintage.
