Hello everyone

The driver's door lock (the bit you put your key into) has come loose and the whole assembly actually fell out the other day. I have put it back in place and put a piece of duct tape over it for the moment.

Is this a common problem?
Is this something that I can fix myself and if not, should I call an autoelectrician or a mechanic???

Cheers

There should be a clip that holds it in from inside the door - You'll have to take the interior door trim off to find out what the problem is.Door.jpg

Thanks for the diagram. It was the key cylinder (7) that came out. Perhaps the spring clip thingy is still inside the door. I will do some homework on removing door trims...

This is a handy tool to have for trim removal. It can be found at most automotive stores and it's pretty cheap.
