Subaru Diff guard?

Anyone purchased and installed the OEM Subaru Diff guard?

Read about it on another forum, sounds slightly tricky...

Cant find the site now, was an overseas Subaru part supplier.

Nope, but its probably the strongest part of your car so I wouldn't worry about it.

Install is not too bad (pretty straightforward) installs with basic hand tools (17 or 19mm wrench and 14 mm socket/ratchet)

Not hard to install, the instructions use to say to remove the rear part of the exhaust (not sure about newer Foresters) but I've done a few with out doing that. It makes it a little more difficult but doable.

My .02 on this is to cut a notch under the drain plug so you do not have to remove it when you change diff. oil. Here's mine.

Got mine from Renick Subaru US. Could not get one locally but they sold them in UK and US. cost me about $US50 and about the same for postage. Pretty easy to fit.
