I had a few days off during the week and a massive list of places I wanted to see along the South coast so went on an offroad adventure starting at Black Point and finishing at West Cape Howe.

Day 1 The adventure started when I hit the dirt on the road to Black Point.

With in a minute of arriving several DEC offroad trucks came out of the track transporting some excavators. They informed me that I would need to air down at least to 12psi as they have chewed up the track in their trucks. The rest of the track had truck diff scrape marks everywhere. Luckily the wheel tracks were to wide for the Forester to sink into properly.

Next pictures are at Black Point.

Day 2 started early as I had a lot to cover.

Jasper Beach had a long soft beach exit.

Then the track went into the Forest towards Lake Jasper.

Final stop for the day was Peaceful Bay. Near town is an place appropriately named Soft Beach. All the fishermen kept their Land Cruisers parked just up off the beach and they gave me funny looks when I took the Forester down. I got more funny looks when I had a swim in the freezing cold water.

One beach across was the exact opposite to Soft Beach.

Why do they call it Diamond Rock?

I then went to pick up a mate in Albany to get some local knowledge before tackling the more challenging West Cape Howe. The tracks into Dunsky Beach were easy as it was all down hill and had a rewarding location to ourselves at the end.

Next stop was meant to be the most Southern point in Western Australia, but we got lost and found this rock instead.

This meant having to drive back up here.

After more track navigation the Forester became the most Southern car in Western Australia.

Then the race was on to become the most Southern person in WA.

The way out was far more challenging and involved some steep rutted out ascents. Videos to come.

Very nice, great scenery and looks like you had a lot of the places to yourself.

Looking forward to a couple of videos.

Thanks for the pics and report - looks like a great trip was had!

I had most the places to my self. Water was on the cold side.

Here's the video of West Cape Howe.

I was never going to make it up the final hill with out some serious diffs, but ended up taking the track to the right, which had deeper holes that were easily avoidable. No footage of that hill climb unfortunately. Think I need to invest in one of those camera dash mounts.

Nice video !

But as always it surely doesn't give justice !

"After more track navigation the Forester became the most Southern car in Western Australia."

Gold!
