Wink carljwnc's Job BS Thread

I finally found a job that I was hoping to stay at for the rest of my working life, I've been there for almost a year now. Due to the current state of the world economy, I (along with five others) was let go this Friday. I'm not giving up hope, I'm on the recall list if/when things turn around, just hope it's sooner rather than later.

If anyone out there needs a precision grinding machine for grinding drills, taps, or saw blades please contact Normac Inc. Might just save my job! I know everyone out there needs such a machine.

I hope I'm the only one who has fallen victim to such actions, but be ready, stash some cash and be ready for a bit of a vacation. Things are not good here in the US and it may be sometime before I can find another job.

Thanks Guys!!!

First, the unemployment office, then a week of slacking, then I'll start looking for work. I may just try to find something temporary in hopes that my job comes available again.

I don't know if you remember, but on the 'old' board I had a thread going where I went through something like ten jobs. I was really thinking I was done with all that....

Sorry to hear that Carl. I know the feeling. I have had about 6 jobs in the last year and a bit. Mostly casual, with no real idea of how long each will last.

But a man of many talents such as youself will find something again soon.

Beigewagon.

Truly sorry to hear that mate. these really are uncertain and scary times for eveyone. A mate of mine just had 20 of his work mates let go over the last 2 months and the construction industry over here has dropped quite badly. anyway good luck with the search

Been poking my nose around and it's really dismal out there. To fulfill my unemployment obligation I have to apply for two jobs a week. There is nothing out there in my field to even apply for. With more and more places shutting down or laying folks off, if a job does become available there are going to be probably hundreds of people trying to get it. I'll still keep looking, but I'm also going to try and enjoy my time off too....

I know how you feel- I have been down that road many years ago. I looked further afield- and now days I wondered why I did not make the change sooner. One door closes, another door opens. All the best and never lose hope.
